Specialty Services
Sleep Apnea
It’s estimated that one in 15 adults in the United States have obstructive sleep apnea (OPA). Approximately 80% of these people are undiagnosed. OSA is caused by continuous obstruction of the upper airways narrowing the respiratory passages. As a result, the patient may begin to do the following when asleep: snore, gasp for breath, breathe more shallow or experience insomnia. Dr. Lindsay focuses on oral appliances to treat OSA in children and adults.
Temporomandibular Disorder
Temporomandibular joint and muscle disorders, commonly called “TMJ,” are a group of conditions that cause pain and dysfunction in the jaw joint and muscles that control jaw movement. The disorder is highly undiagnosed, complex and multifactorial since the pain can affect multiple areas often causing the patient to be passed down from one healthcare provider to the next. Dr. Lindsey prefers to holistically treat TMD with orthopedics, orthodontics and myofunctional therapy.
